Second SGACP Science Team Meeting

Summary of Session on Process and Closure Study Data Sets:

Harshvardhan chaired the session on Process and Closure Study Data Sets. Presenters and topics included:

Trish Quinn: A large set of ocean cruise aerosol studies, plus a synopsis of aerosol measurements and closure studies in the North Atlantic Aerosol Characterization Experiment (ACE 2).

Phil Russell: The Tropospheric Aerosol Radiative Forcing Observational Experiment (TARFOX).

Rich Ferrare: Aerosol profile data sets from airborne and ground-based lidar measurements in a large set of missions over 3 continents and 3 oceans.

Jim Coakley: An overview of the Indian Ocean Experiment (INDOEX).

Tony Clarke: Airborne measurements of aerosols in INDOEX and a large set of previous campaigns around the world.

Measurements and closure studies made in the above campaigns are summarized in a set of tables provided by Quinn, Russell, and Clarke.
