GACP Datasets

Schmid Dataset

Airborne aerosol and water vapor data acquired during ACE-2 can be found at http://geo.arc.nasa.gov/sgg/ACE-2 and they also have been submitted to the ACE-2 archive http://rea.ei.jrc.it/~vandinge/ace2/ace2main.html

In the ACE-2 archive:

Dataset CIRPAS-NASA-001 consists of data acquired from aboard the CIRPAS Pelican with the NASA Ames 14-channel airborne tracking sunphotometer (AATS-14). There is one file for each Pelican flight. Included in the archival are:

  • Time
  • Aircraft Latitude
  • Aircraft Longitude
  • Aircraft Altitude
  • Atmospheric Pressure
  • Detector Outputs
  • Water Vapor Column Content
  • Absolute Uncertainty in Water Vapor Column Content
  • Aerosol Optical Depth at 13 wavelengths between 380 and 1558 nm
  • Absolute Uncertainty in Aerosol Optical Depth at the same 13 wavelengths

Dataset CIRPAS-NASA-002 consists aerosol extinction and water vapor density profiles acquired from aboard the CIRPAS Pelican with the NASA Ames 14-channel airborne tracking sunphotometer (AATS-14).

Aerosol extinction and water vapor density profiles are obtained by vertically differentiating Aerosol Optical Depth or Water Vapor Column measurements (contained in CIRPAS-NASA-001) during aircraft up or down spirals. There is one file for each profile. Included in the archival are:

  • Time
  • Aircraft Latitude
  • Aircraft Longitude
  • Aircraft Altitude
  • Atmospheric Pressure
  • Water Vapor Density
  • Aerosol Extinction at 13 wavelengths between 380 and 1558 nm
